Cable labeling

Hi!
Any tips to a newbie how to label cables in a DC boat system in a sensible way?
I have started to use the following system in lack of knowledge of any standards:
Cables from start battery are labeled “B1”, Cables from Main battery bank is B2, and cables from bow thruster bank is B3.
First cable from B1 is labeled B1-01
Second cable from B1 is labeled B1-02 etc.

When a cable enters a fuse panel, the outgoing cables are for example labeled B1-FP1. When they leave the fuse panel they are labeled B1-FP1-1 if they are connected to fuse 1 in fuse panel 1. B1-FP1-2 if it is connected to fuse 2 in fuse panel 1 on battery 1, and so on.

If a cable goes to a bus bar, it gets labeled B2-FP3-2-D1-3 for the third connection on bus bar 1 after fuse number 2 in fuse panel 3 on battery 2. And so on.
Is this system understandable by someone other than me? Is there some ISO standard or something that I would better follow? I’m sure that someone already have created some sort of standard for this?
