I have had the BMV 712S installed in our RV. I am struggling to understand what the RELAY function is and how to set it up. Whether the RV engine is running or not, on the main Android display it shows 0.3 value under starter battery input.
What I do not want is the starter battery to be depleted while camping. We are running 1 x 180ah lithium battery and have a basic relay in the camper to charge the leisure battery when the engine is running.

Update from Ian. The value under starter battery input is actually 0.03, not 0.3.
Have you actually connected the starter battery to the aux input and then set up the aux input as starter battery.
See Section 3.6.1 in the manual for wiring the starter battery and Section 4.6.4 for setting the aux function.
For the relay see Section 7.3 which explains all the features and yes, you can use the relay function based on the starter battery voltage.
I have just checked and it looks like I have the “Basic” connection without the starter battery. Can I send you an image of the connection just to confirm?
So can you explain why on the dashboard it shows the starter battery as 0.03V. Is that a discharge of the starter battery? Thanks.
If you don’t have the starter battery connected to the BMV than that 0.03V is just a measurement error.
