BMV-712 with starter battery

Auxiliary starter battery set up on BMV 712, fuse OK. Display shows 0 V. What’s the problem? Does the connection sequence matter? Can anyone help me?

  1. Have you checked with a multimeter that the BMV terminal is seeing battery voltage.
  2. check the small glass fuse and fuse holder are OK.
  3. Do your starter battery and main battery have a common negative connection.
  4. have you checked in VictronConnect settings thst the aux terminal is enabled and set to starter battery under Settings / Misc.

Thx for your answer, mr Farnell concerning

Checked voltage on the other end of the thin cable, before sticking into the shunt B+. Correct voltage
3. App set at starter battery.
4. Minus of starterbattery, connected through enginebody, to minus of servicebatteries. Not direct connected to minus of service L/C before the shunt entry. Could this be the problem?
5. Your answer #1. Where do you mean measure voltage on BMV connection? All other data are being indicated on the service battery system and functioning.

Is it possible that in the shunt there is something wrong ?

I meant check the voltage on the thin end of the wire after it is plugged into the BMV. This is better then just checking the end of the wire before connecting it.

The batteries are both connected to the chassis then the aux voltage measurement should work, the connection does not need to be direct, as long as both chassis connections are working.

You have checked all other common problems so it could be a faulty BMV.
