I have been using a 3 relay hat for a while controlling it with node red and it works well. I hoped to add some more functionality and found the Bevrlink 8 port hat that looked promising. I purchased one and tried it on a spare RPi 4b. It caused issues immediately. I wasn’t sure what happened but could not control the relays from in v 3.54. I then realized I had lost wifi access as well. I thought I bricked my Pi but latter found it only messed up the OS on the card. Using a backup card w/o the 8 port hat I had wifi again. So I tried again with the same results. Pi works fine with a fresh install. Obviously connecting the Bevrlink changes the OS on the card somehow. I don’t know enough about how the internals work to figure it out. Just wanted to warn others about the damage it can do (always have a backup). If anyone else has figured it out I would be curious to have a solution.
