From time to time, I use my Victron MPPT 150/45 to put some charge into an alternate battery system (60V). I have a second profile saved, which I have configured with custom settings to comply with this other battery bank.
My question is about the disconnection procedure. My approach has been to go into settings, disable charging, switch profiles, switch the battery bank, then re-enable charging when the appropriate battery bank is attached and the profile is loaded.
During all this, I leave the PV input connected the whole time so as not to have 100% power loss to the device, causing a restart. Is this okay for the MPPT device—remaining connected to the PV? Is my procedure correct?
(Charging feature always disabled prior to disconnecting batteries, leaving PV active with the enabling and disabling of the charging feature during its interruption? Apply accordingly.)
