Batteries never reaching 100% SOC

My DIY LiIon battery is not charigng to 100%.

My Setup:

  • 1 x EasySolar 48/5000/70 MPPT 150/100
  • 3 x MPPT connected via CAN (including EasySolar MPPT)
  • 1 x Cerbo with beta Firmware (No ESS etc…)
  • 1 x Lynx Shunt connect via CAN
  • 1 x DIY LiION Battery 13s with no BMS (Just active balancer + Lynx Shunt)
  • DVCC enabled, Voltage set to 54,6V

Problem:
All MPPTs are set to 53.4V for absorption Voltage (Technical limit of battery is 54,6V)
Lynx Shunt is set to 53,3V for “full battery“ recognition.

It seems that the MPPTs are limiting Charge Voltage to 53.1V, they are showing still “Absorption“ as actual charging mode. But there is no significat current into the Battery. There is full sun.

Even if I set a higher voltage for Absorption, there is no significant change of the charge current.

What am I missing?
Maybe Anything to do with Cerbo Beta OS, limiting charge Voltage?

Sure that its a 13s LiIon? That would be a nominal voltage of 48.1V with a charge end voltage of 54.6V

When having a system issue it is best to use official releases, not betas.
Q&A is for production software, and you need to eliminate a config issue vs beta issues.
Do you have DVCC enabled (You should)?
What are the inverter charge settings? Is it on a lithium profile?
If not, and without DVCC, you could have chargers doing temperature compensation.

Edit: noticed you didn’t list an inverter.
DVCC still a good idea, but check MPPT settings to make sure temperature compensation is disabled.

Absolutely sure!
Corrected a typo in voltage.

Thanks Nick, added missing information in original post.

Yes, Inverter, MPPT, etc. set to Lithium parameters.
I’m not sure, but maybe this issue appeared after switching from ve.direct to ve.can connection of my three MPPTs.
Could that be a reason and if -yes-, why?

You can remove the dvcc voltage setting, it only applies to managed batteries and yours isn’t one.
Did you restart the system after changing from vedirect to CAN?

Ok, I will disable DVCC an test it.
System Restart means: All devices including MPPT, Cerbo, Multiplus…?

After restartig my system there is a significant energy flow to my battery, hopefully this did the trick.
Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:
