Does anyone here is signed up to Axel Energy VPP. It looks suspiciously good on their website. Apparently it is not directly compatible with Victron system, but you can use Home Assistant to overcome this issue and get it working with them?
You don’t need MCS to sign up and they are paying £1 for every kwh exported “during grid stress periods”, sounds suspiciously good.
What do you think? Does anyone have any experience with this company and their service?
No no experience of it, right now the GivEnergy people are lapping it up. I’ve experienced my concerns especially when they don’t have warranty on there products anymore.
They control your system in times of grid stress ie the alter it to support the grid that’s there job, but at what charge discharge rate does temperature ever factor into there setting.
As pumping batteries at full pelt if there cold or too hot isn’t going to work out well. As at least for Pylontech 8000 cycles on paper which is great in the Goldilocks zone of 25degress I image most batteries in the UK for this little mini heatwave have not kept in these conditions.
I allow mine to go to 27.6 before AC kicks in otherwise all my energy is just used to keep the batteries cool. The heating is similar but some conditions have to be met before those automations kick in to either cool or heat them. So no I don’t want anyone in my system other than me. Before you could opt in for gid feed back when prices were good and you could chose how hard the batteries worked by looking at battery temp and deciding at the time.
They are paying a pound which is cool but they are getting paid way more than that, I get you they need to be paid but now does that payment now take priority over my system and longevity. As far as I’m concerned the only person that is going to respect take into account all the other environmental factors or charge discharge rate and duration. As no point getting a couple of quid if battery hasn’t got enough juice to run the house and forcing me to use peak rate. But this is just me I guess
