Alternative CT's for VM-3P75CT

Hi all,

I’m investigating an (D)ESS for use in a large system. The cable for each (of 3) fase from the power company coming into the buildig are 95mm2. Diameter is about 17,8 mm.

I want to use a VM-3P75CT as grid-meter, but the included CT’s are only 10mm in diameter.

Would it be possible to exchange the C/CT-0810 (80A, 10mm) with a C/CT-2524 (250 A, 24 mm) and redo the callibration of the VM-3P75CT?

Or can an other solution be used?

Kind regards,

Ralph.

Ralph, I posted this to another string: I was very disappointed when my VM-3P75CT arrived with the small CTs. Following some research, I crossed the Victron supplied numbers (Tokin C-CT-0810-05-01) to a 3000:1 datasheet. Then I found a 80-C/CT-1216 from Mouser electronics. I spliced some extension wire to end up with about the same length and my meter is in business. Yes - I can’t call it Victron calibrated, but it does compare nicely with my installed Scheider system. The Victron energy meter is very responsive. Consider me a satisfied customer (now). The Mouser web site gives you full details on the CT dimensions.
