I installed this system in my temporary bus conversion 2 years ago and its been working great for us but we havent been running any a/c equipment with it yet. I only have the one Multiplus 2 24/3000 inverter/charger so far. I am moving forward on the final build of the bus and was looking for some suggestions for the anticipated increased power usage. I want to use two mini split a/c units and my choices would be to go with two separate 110 volt units or slightly larger units but 220 volts. It seems that 220 volt systems would be more efficient, also the a/c would be the only 220 appliances in the bus. I am trying to educate myself on the best way to proceed with the electrical system and I know with the extra anticipated usage I would need a second inverter, SO should I buy a matching second inverter and stay 110 volts, OR can I use the two matching Multiplus 2 24/3000 inverters and get 220 out of them? OR should I start over with bigger inverters and go 220 volts? Suggestions?
You already have something that works for what you do now. Leave it be.
Have a separate system for the bigger draw items, that way only part of your day to day activities are affected if one of the systems goes down for any reason.
I will be adding two mini split a/c units so that’s why I need to add a second inverter. What I need to learn is the best way to utilize the inverters which is why I am asking the few questions at the end of my original post.
Are you planning on sharing the one battery bank?
A larger unit makes more sense to factor in derating.
Yes sharing, I have four 24 volt 200 AH batteries
