Access point not sharing internet connection

I have a EasySolar-II GX connected by ethernet cable to a local network (10.0.1.*) with internet access. The device connects to VRM with no problem. I have tested both DHCP and static IP configurations.

Settings → Connectivity → Wi-Fi → Create Access Point option is enabled and the AP is created. Devices (Android smartphone and linux laptop) can connect to the AP and contact the EasySolar, both using the Access Point address (172.24.24.1) and the local network address (10.0.1.228) but they do not have access to other local network devices nor the internet.

As I understand reading other posts the EasySolar should act as a router, forwarding the traffic and enabling internet access to devices connected to the AP. Is it correct?

GX Firmware: v3.67

Thanks in advance

Perhaps Venus is not designed to bridge the Wifi and internet connections?..

acces point is only to connect to the GX module locally for settings in remote console, there is no router option

No, definitely not.
