AC Input Control Issues are giving me a migraine!

I am having issues with the AC input control for my MultiPluss-II 12/3000/120-50 2x120V. I am using a MK3-USB interface to adjust the settings using the VictronConnect App on my MacBook Pro. I selected the “AC input connect based on load” slider, and it works correctly for the “Connect when load is higher than” setting. The problem occurs with the “Disconnect when load is lower than” setting. It is a 50A RV system that has 2 lines (L1 and L2). The “Disconnect when load is lower than” setting only uses the wattage from L1. So even though the load in L2 is higher than the set amount in the “Disconnect when load is lower than” setting (L1 at this time is below the set threshold), it will still disconnect the AC input. I want the “Disconnect when load is lower than” setting to include the sum of both L1 and L2 rather than just the L1 value. How do I do that? I attached a screenshot of the settings page in VictronConnect and a wiring diagram that is pretty similar to my set-up. I also have a Cerbo Gx device connected if that matters.

Your problem is that L2 actually has nothing to do with the multiplus, it’s just wired through the case.

It might be possible to set something up with a cerbo and a gridmeter, but that will put you back a couple of hundred bucks…

I already have a cerbo attached to this so that’s not an issue. What type of grid meter and setup do I need to make it work then?

There are severall compatible gridmeters , but you’d have to look what is available in US for split-phase, then set it up to control the mp .

But from here on I’m in the dark, i know its possible, but i have absolutely no experience with cerbo and its programming.

So, maybe one of the cerbo experts can take over from here ???

Well it’s a start! Thanks for the help. Hopefully a Cerbo expert will reply pretty soon

Maybe OT but you cant use a cerbo and an mk3 at the same time, or leave both connected, only one can be in the system to control it

Interesting. I haven’t had an issue with adjusting the settings using the mk3 while having the cerbo connected before, but I’ll disconnect the cerbo and change the settings with the mk3 to see if it works!
