AC-coupled PV inverter total yield reported 1000x too low via SunSpec (AEG AS-IC02-4000-2)

Hi all,

I have an AC-coupled PV inverter on AC input 1 of a Cerbo GX (Venus OS v3.75), read over Modbus TCP / SunSpec. The inverter is a three-phase 4 kW AEG AS-IC02 series.

The inverter’s own display and the manufacturer’s monitoring app both show a total yield of 10.3 MWh. The GX device page shows 10.30 kWh for the same inverter, and 3435 Wh per phase (3 x 3435 = 10305). The underlying number is right, but it looks like it is read as Wh where the inverter means kWh, so exactly a factor of 1000.

There is a second effect that bothers me more. When the inverter wakes up in the morning, the value first shows 0.0 and a few minutes later jumps to 10.30. The GX appears to book that difference as roughly 10.3 kWh of production in one moment, and since there is no matching grid or battery flow, the same amount shows up in the calculated consumption as well. Some days it happens twice.

Two questions:

  1. Does the GX SunSpec driver apply the scale factor of the total energy register (WH_SF in model 101/103)? From the outside I cannot tell whether the inverter reports the wrong factor or the driver does not use it.

  2. Can the driver ignore a lifetime counter that drops to zero and comes back? A counter going from a value to 0 and back is never real energy, whichever side causes it.

Ideally I would like the GX to ignore the energy register but keep the power readings and the dynamic power limiting, since both of those work correctly. Is that possible?

Happy to share my VRM portal ID and serial numbers by private message if someone wants to look at the raw registers. Remote support is enabled.

Thanks.
