I am working on a custom "cape" for the BeagleBone Enhanced with VenusOS. After reviewing the VenusGX schematics (https://github.com/victronenergy/venusgx-hardware), I was wondering if the RTC, EEProm and PIC18 are necessary for operation. What function do they play in the VenusGX hardware? What features or functions will be missing if they are not present on the custom cape?
Any information is helpful. This is for a scaled-down version of the VenusGX, as we only need one digital input and the VE.Direct to communicate with a SmartShunt.
