Input current limit being exceeded - Multiplus

Hi,

I have a 48/5000 Multiplus 2 with a BT Smart dongle.

I have set the Max Input Current Limit to 10a via the BT dongle but when I plug the gen set in to top up the batteries it charges at Maximum current which exceeds the generators 3,700w running capacity.

Your AC in is not connected.

Your battery is not being charged.

AC out is 189w.

HMmm.

It is connected, the inverter doesn’t have time to evaluate the input current etc before the gen set overloads. The BT dongle interface shows this before the gen set cuts out. If the gen set would hold out another 15 seconds or so I believe the UI would show more details

What if you limit the battery charging current (in Multiplus)?

That’s the next step but I have to use Ve Configure for that. So another $100 accessory from Victron. I ordered one today.
