Smart Solar MPPT 250/85 cycling PV to 0 after 1.54 upgrade

Hello,

This system was disconnected for a few months. It is a marine application. Returning to the boat we powered up the solar controller and everything looked normal looking at the Color Controller. I logged onto VictronConnect to the solar controller via Bluetoot. As seems to be normal in this situation, the app prompted an update to the controller from 1.2x. It did 2 updates ending at 1.54 before allowing continuation to the data.

After the updates, I am seeing cycling of the PV input from a normal 450w to 0. It is doing this several times a minute. All was steady and consistent before logging on and updating.

Is this a known issue? Anyone have some advice on what the cause might be? Is it possible to roll back the update?

Thanks

DonE

Hi @DonE

With the information given there is not much to say...

is the systsem also connected to grid? (maybe the battery is fully charged?)

what are PV and Battery voltages what is the charge state? etc. etc.

Currently not connected to the grid. Battery charge 87%. 12.7V. Sunny day in st. Augustine FL.

pV voltage in 20v and steady

voltage out of controller directly to connected batteries 12.75-13v

Again this started happening directly after firmware 1.54 upgrade.image.jpgimage.jpg

Were the panels disconnected, too during those few months?

Panels disconnected from controller, Controller disconnected from batteries. Both via breaker.
