Help needed regarding a little water turbine

Hi,

I have a water turbine that is used to power a small kids shack ventilating fan next to a river, the input from the turbine is 2A (fluctuates), 12v. Will any of the charging control module for solar work for such an application? The load is 1.5A and I am planning to use a 12 V lead battery.

Hi @Nour Akel,

unfortunately this doesn't work. The MPPTs require at least +5v above battery voltage to start.
For a 12V battery this means 17V.

Not for 12V output from the hydro generator. But maybe @Markus has an idea. He's expert on hydro generators.

Unfortunately, as Stefanie said, your turbine is producing too little Voltage to connect it to a MPPT charger or charge a battery directly.
Depending on your load, it might work to connect the load directly to the (DC) turbine.

Because of the power fluctuation due to the nature of the river it does not work :(

have you checked the voltage with a multi meter?
