Establishing Modbus TCP communication with Venus GX

Hello Community,

I am trying to implement Modbus TCP communication with Venus GX and TI Launchpad (TMS570LC43x).

Can anyone kindly reveal whether it is possible to get all live data from the devices connected to the Venus GX using Modbus TCP communication?

Regards: Advaith

Hi Advaith,

It is possible to extract a series of parameters from GX. I implemented several queries via iobroker.
So it is also possible to retrieve information from 3rd party batteries or MPPTs, etc. that are connected with GX and listed there.
A documentation of supported register can be downloaded here on Vitcron Wegpage.

Have fun

I have tried Modbus TCP/IP but it seems very diffiult for me to figure out.

I am now trying a new method that use Ethernet to RS232/485 converter for getting data from Venus GX to TI Launch pad.

I don't know whether this will success. Kindly GUIDE ME.

Could you please describe, what application you use to extract Modbus data?
Below you see an example for iobroker. Consider that specific information requires a special slave reference beside standard 100 (yellow mark).
