We have 2 x Quattro 24/8000 units with 4 Kw of DC coupled Solar with a 250/85 mppt smart solar reg
The Units are 1 year old and on the latest Release Firmware 473
whats the best setup to get the system to use all the available solar power first before it draws form Grid or the Generator.
The picture below shows 30watts of solar but it should be over 1.5Kw available at this time of day
Hi, it depends on the firmware you are running in the Quatrro's
We have an older Quattro 8000 with FW 159 and configured it with a Virtual Switch setup with ignore AC input.
AC Input is ignored till battery voltage is below 24V.
If the Quattro is equipped with a New Processor board you can run 4xx firmware and Assistants with lots more possibilities.

@Paul B hello are you running with lithium batteries? If so are you confident in setting your system up as an ESS system?
Hi H.W have set many ESS and assistants up , and yes with litium 20kw bank , but this is a boat and it has a generator yes its also connected 80% of the time to the grid when its at the marinia, and I dont mind exporting when its grid connected but when the generator starts we cant export. ( the liklyhood of exporting when the gen is connect is remote, but thats not 100% a shore thing.
but the main thing is to use all the solar power first, then take from shore power or generator .
I can find any clear solution to this that does not involve someone manually changing settings in the ESS or when the generator is in use on AC2
