Multiplus overload

I have a multiplus 48/3000 that has worked ok for the past 18 months. However in the past few weeks it keeps shutting down due to overload but no overload/short has occurred.

Upon resetting the inverter makes a strange noise and throws another overload fault, even with no load. It finally resets and works ok for a few days before occurring again.

Hello

I just plugged in my new Multiplus 48V/5000VA/70-100, (battery SOC=86) and after about 3-4 hours of flawless operation, the inverter started to hum loudly and then shut down after a few minutes. It does not matter whether the inverter load is 30W or 700W or 0W.
The warning is: "Inverter overload" (red LED overload remains on until reset)

what could be the problem?

Hi @johnp

Sorry to hear about this, overload issues can be hard to find / fix. if you are sure upon restarting with no AC output wiring connected to the inverter, so it's not an external wiring or load issue, then it's best to contact your distributor for repair of the unit.

Have you physically disconnected the ac output wires to verify the fault is in the inverter?

yep, even with no ac load it sometimes throws an overload fault, but give it a minute or 2 it restarts fine and can be ok for 1 day or 1 week

"even with no ac load"

No load?

What about the rest of the ac wiring? A pinched, crushed or kinked cable could intermittently fault. Creepy crawly's also cause mischief.

We checked thé components, everything looked okay. If you find thé solution, we will be very interested.
