No data alarm - lost connection to VRM after update to 2.30

hello team, trust all is well. I have been having an intermittent "no data' alarm since 27th May 2019 after a fw upgrade of the Venus GX from v2.23 to v2.30.

As of the last 26 hrs, the alarm is persistent and can't check data from vrm portal. Any one else experience this issue?

The Venus GX is connected to the internet.

Thanks for reporting, we’ll look into it. If anyone else is having similar issues, run through the usual suspects in Chapter 5 and if issues persist please report them also.

After each launch like this, developers will be watching.

My VRM has not been updated since yesterday. Remote console access has also been very inconsistent. VRM logs continued being updated, but remote console was not available. Now all has been off-line for 24 hrs.

Hi @ejrossouw Are you using a Venus GX? If so, kindly do a cold reboot i.e. disconnect power, wait for a min and connect back power on your Venus GX. If you are local to the device, try and reach (ping) it from your router to verify connectivity before and after.

Check the web address the GX has assigned to it. As you can, indeed if you can, somehow. VRM. LAN or router. It may be related to this: From the v2.30 change-log: "Add a link local interface parallel to the ethernet: this make the link local address directly available instead of only after a DHCP timeout. See https://github.com/victronenergy/venus/issues/361"

Thanks JohnC. My setup is purely wifi and having a static IP. I will check on the router for any unusual clients and get back.

Hi both, having a link local address or interface now is not related. Its probably something else.

I’ll contact you by email later, @Nzomo

Hello everyone, we have a similar problem with connection. No data alarm ! before only sometimes and now no connection. We use a Venus Gx, the GX GSM modem and the exterior antenna 4dBi. The GX GSM modem was changed for shure, but problem looks same. SIM-card is ok.
