SmartSolar MPPT VE.Can 250//100 rev 2 - Temperature

Hello,

I have a 250/100 SmartSolar MPPT.

This is operated at max. 216V and max. 27A. The PV modules have 5kWp.

Firmware 3.10

Ambient temperature is about 23°C

How hot is it allowed to become, at 5000W continuous power?

Connected is a 48V system.

With a temperature sensor enclosed with the Cebro, I measured approx. 51°C at 4000W.

This has been corrected in advance to 23°C room temperature (offset in software = -6°C).

Measurement of the temperature: Centered on the front of the case

Temperature sensor is mounted with 3M 8926 heat conductive adhesive tape.

Cooling of the MPPT = Passive, no forced convection by fan.

Thanks a lot!

@California2

Yeah they get super hot when maxing the amps out.

It has an operating temperature +60°C but it derates before that. The most I have seen derating though is 96A out of the 100A front temps at 65°C.

Ambient 25°C

And how hot?

What is the technical Limit at 5000W?

55°C ? 60°C? ???? More????

I want to know:

What is the "normal" Temperature at 5000W?

And what is the technical Limit, without any damage.
