Current limit at 15 but only using 10?

Anyone know why when I set the limit to 15amp, the Multiplus is only allowing 10-11amps and pulling the rest from battery? I tried 20amp but then the generator gets killed by the spike when AC kicks on. screenshot-20220805-214519-vrm.jpg

Is there a limit on the grid hookup?

Yes, it's at to 15, that's the problem, it's only pulling 10-11. Once the air condition turns off and the load isn't so high, it charges the battery with around 14 amps. Once the AC load is back, it drops back to 10-11A and pulls the rest from the battery.

Sorry, I meant is the grid itself limited, not the multi. But @Alexandra gave a better answer.

It is possible there is high resistance in the incoming AC who knows the angry pixies trapped in there may not be interested in being wrangled in the right direction. :-)

If you have weak ac enabled it will do that.

Week AC is not enabled. 1660530128419.png

Does dynamic current limit cause this? I assumed I should have it checked to help the generator from getting full bursts of current draw.

It is possible that is could be the cause, usually it only affects short term current draw from the generator.

But your battery charging amps are set at 120A, on a 12v system that is 1440W of charging at 12v so if you don't have other loads on this will be all the system draws.

Try switching off power assist, or changing the boost factor.

I'll try that, what power factor do you suggest? My generator is a small 3000 watt that I would call 2500 in reality.
