Check the log whether the interface has been detected by the kernel.

Look in:

lsusb
cat /var/log/messages
dmesg

Use a USB DATA PORT on the Cerbo, not the POWER port for the display. Or use a powered active USB hub connected to a data port.

I'm kinda confused. Why are you trying to use the MK3 with a Cerbo instead of using the built-in VE.Bus port?

There can be many reason, one is not having a spare RJ45 cable for the Ve.Bus to Ve.Bus connection, but having the MK3 handy, another is when you want 2 independent Ve.Bus connections (not configuring multi phase systems or parallel operations, but having 2 inverters side by side, or having 2 Ve.Bus BMS side by side on one Venus and not wanting them to talk to each other, or using a Ve.Bus BMS and a Quattro but not wanting the BMS to control the Quattro directly - what disables some remote control features for the user - instead using the cerbo as intermediate instance)
