Using MPPT to trigger Multiplus Generator start

I am trying to have a relay triggered, possibly via the Venus GX, when an MPPT solar controller gets to a certain harvest level. I can do that by taking the pulse output of the TX pin on the MPPT & measuing the pulse frequency, via say an arduino, (Venus appears it may do this too...) but hoping to do that, to switch a relay say on the Venus GX, at the solar threshold level (eg 500W output.) Anyone got any ideas on how to do that?

the venus GX and the CCGX units have inbuilt gen start stop control

so ie if the battery voltage drops to say 12.5 then start the gen

when it raises to say 14 stop the gen

it can also do it via SOC or AMPS used etc etc see if this will give you the solution

Is the SOC in the Generator start menu? that may be OK...

these are the settings under gen stop and start

you will need to set it up

and have a BMV 712 send the soc info to the CCGX or a Multiplus/Quatro

first go to settings and set relay function as Gen auto start

then the above options will apear in the generator auto start section
