It is unusual that the MPPT FW upgrade has caused GX error #48 - was the CCGX FW also maybe upgraded recently?

This error can occur when upgrading to a recent Venus OS FW (v2.40 or later) and when one of the system devices does not meet the minimum DVCC firmware requirements.

I would recommend to take a look at the current FW version of all other devices in your system (CCGX, Inverter/Charger, Battery Monitor and also managed batteries) and then determine what may need to be updated.

I just noticed I received two emails from VRM during the firmware upgrade.

1. DVCC Firmware insufficient alarm: Warning

2. DVCC Firmware insufficient alarm changed from 'Warning' to 'No alarm'

maybe I’m ok?

thank you for the reply.
I have a BMV-712 and a smart solar 100/50 along with the color control GX.

i upgraded the gx a few days ago.

all three are at the latest firmware.

In that case my 'guess' is that the MPPT would have been offline for a minute or so during the MPPT FW upgrade and that could have (maybe) triggered the temporarily error.

What about your inverter/charger - is that a Victron unit and if so what FW is it running? (if you have one)

And do you happen to have lithium managed batteries?

My inverter and charger are separate stand alone unmanaged units. I rarely use the charger since the solar does such a great job.

i have four Battleborn 100amp hour lithium batteries that are managed by themselves other than the mppt.
thank you again for your response.

Im also thinking this was a temp error during the mppt upgrade. Just hasn’t happen with past upgrades.

Hi @Rob Duthie

This issue is listed in the VenusOS changelog for v2.63 as "fixed". Maybe try that if you haven't already..

Hi John C

I will check the the Venus ver again, i though when i did the firmware update to 481 for the Easysolar GX inverter it updated the GX device, looks like it does'nt.

I will update this next now i see that on the version was still stuck at V2 .60.

The EasySolar and the GX device are two independent devices.
So you have to update each separately.

I got this alarm too after upgrading firmware. I got it also at previous upgrade via Victron Connect.

I have:

- CCGX v2.54

- MultiPlus-II 48/3000/35-32, firmware 456

- SmartSolar Charger MPPT 150/35 v1.50

- Bluetooth Smart Dongle

- AGM batteries

I guess the requirements are met, but why I get this error?
