Will Quattro ever support dual 50A legs out of phase with firmware?

Hi,

There are several drawbacks to using 50A shore power in the US (50A shore is really two 50A legs out of phase) where either you need a smart phase switch or two quattros which having two also has big limitations among cost. Is there any hope that a firmware update could allow for the use normal North America 50A service without all these “trade offs”? Or is the hardware the limiting factor here?

Hello, The phase/N or Phase/phase connection isnt relevant, as long as the AC input voltage is in ramge for the charger. So splitphase 180deg 120Vac gives 240Vac, and can be used therefore.

For charging, yes. But not if you care about the AC output on the other side. There, we need the neutral yet again for all 120V loads.

Is this something that could be changed via firmware or would it need new windings for the neutral out?

Right, but the transformers have serious drawback and limit overall power ...
