Victron BYD battery fuse sizing

Good day

The system is as such:

Three phase 10kVA Quattro inverter system coupled to 8x 2.5 BYD B-Box bank (20kWh).

My question is what would the appropriate battery fuse be between the inverters and battery bank? The quattro manual states 400A, but to my understanding the BYD cells can supply 35A per cell, that is 280A.

Will one 400A fuse disconnect between the battery and inverters be adequate?

Thanks

BYD

To expand on @JohnC's answer, there is some good information about selecting appropriate wiring and fusing in the newly release Wiring Unlimited. in Section 4, "DC Wiring" starting page 23.

Hi. Such fusing is to protect the wiring, not the kit at either end.

Depends on your setup, but envisage one of your quattros going into dead short (heaven forbid). Would the fuse protect the wire(s) to it from meltdown?
