Connecting two VE.Bus inverters to Color Control GX

Hello,

GX has two VE.Bus ports. Is it possible to connect a MultiPlus and a Quattro to the same GX? Inverters would be working of same battery bank. How would GX interpret that? For example:

- Would GX show both of them in Device List (like when connecting many BMVs)?

- Would GX combine their AC out power in the graphical “page”?

- With “Has DC system” option on, can GX subtract the second inverter’s consumed DC current, so the “DC system” box shows a number without both inverters’ DC consumption?

Thanks!

This is not supported and you will get errors.

If you want to see both devices in the device list, you will need to use a USB MK3 adapter and plug one into the USB port.

But only one can be part of the system. Their resources will not be combined.
Has DC system would provide an enumerated reading of the DC components and will not be accurate.

The system is designed to have only one (or one group of) MultiPlus / Quattro. As you are probably aware, you cannot group your two different devices.

Thanks! Connecting the second inverter through MK3 USB would at least show it up in Device List? Would it display same data as VE.Bus one? AC input and output “tables”?

BTW, what is the use case behind two VE.Bus ports on GX?

@Oxy- did you ever find out the answer to your question? I want to do the same thing with two inverters and one Cerbo GX if the one inverter that isn't part of the system can be viewed as a DC load in some way.

@AlaskanNoob I didn’t try to power up both, but having one connected through USB and the other through VE.bus interchangeably does show up in GX. Please share if you find out more.
