Solar controller question please help!

I’m trying to dial in three solar panels onto my rv. They are Trina Solar 315w, max Vmp 37.1 amp, Imp 8.51 amps, Voc 45.6v, Isc 9amps. Looking to charge/maintain two interstate MT7-78 deep cycles. Also looking to buy a Victron smart controller, however no idea what model to buy other than I need mc4 connections ;) I appreciate your time and knowledge, thank you!

Hi Scout. The rating of those batts seems to be 62Ah each, If that's right (please check yourself), then you have 124Ah. At a charge rate of 0.1C to 0.2C (ie. 12.4A to 24.8A), then a 20A mppt would suit nicely. That's without loads, and you could go bigger if you could put a number to load A.

20A is only 240W nominal, so you have plenty panel capacity to cover loads and bad weather. That's not an issue in itself.

The Victron range is summarized here: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-BlueSolar-and-SmartSolar-charge-controller-overview-EN.pdf

A 100/20 would suit, but add loads and that decision may step you up. Tell us about your concurrent daytime loads - inverter, dc fridge, whatever.

Looky here too if you're diy'ing it: https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/10063/wiring-unlimited-a-new-book.html
